Day 9

Triathlons have always been of interest to kiwis – and we are good at them too. Typically a triathlon consists of a bike, swim and run; one after the other. It takes a lot of perseverance and time to get in the shape required to compete.

My winner today, Cassie, has the commitment to the training but not the gear. We’ll see a bout that!! To get Cassie out of the lap pool and into the sea for some proper training, I had for her an Orca wetsuit.

I made the delivery at her work in Aucklands CBD. Cassie was told by reception there was an urgent delivery at reception for her. When she saw my tell-tale blue Telecom tee-shirt she got a skip in her step.

She took no time at all to tear open the rapping and adore her new wetsuit. She tells me it is just in time for her 500m swim at Mission Bay next month.

Be sure to follow me on twitter TNZ_GiftGiver. It may be your gift wish I deliver tomorrow.

Day 8

One of my best memories as a kid is playing on my swing set; I would have fun for hours and hours. One day the swing set would be my princess castle, then a pirate ship or perhaps a spacecraft. It was never JUST a swingset! So much fun! A child’s imagination can do wondrous things with such a simple piece of equipment.

Mrs Woods told us her passion is her children and to light up her Christmas a swing set for their yard would be ideal. I drove up to Walkworth (and yes took the new motorway.. exciting!!) in a mini van – to accommodate the rather large gift.

They were so pleased. I’m sure there will be many memories made on the new swing set.

The gifts just keep on coming. I am heading down to our capital city at the end of this week and will be in the South Island the week after that. Still, I would love some more entries!!! So get online make sure mum, dad, nana, grandad, brother, and sister have entered their gift wish http://www.lightofmine.co.nz/passion.php

Day 5

Found myself in Blockhouse Bay, Auckland for our first winner of the day. Vanessa is a very proud and loving mum to three girls aged 5,8 and 9. She wanted more than anything in the world to give them a memorable family holiday and requested a tent big enough to sleep her family of five. Ok no need for a gym visit today this gift was heavy! We found for her the cream of the crop tent boasting four separate compartments!! That way everyone has a room. I know the whole family will love this gift and will use it for plenty of beautiful New Zealand camping trips to come.

I know every girl at some point wishes she were a ballerina, well I got to meet one today. Mikaela’s gift wish was for some Grishko Pointe shoes aka ballet slippers. She has been a ballerina for 6 years and desperately needed a new pair. We had a great time goofing around as she showed me some of her tricky ballet moves. Check us out, its pretty clear who the professional is!!

Successful week! New gifts on Monday. Tune in to see what they are. We could be coming to and area near you…

Day 4

Today I drove to Mt Maunganui, in the Bay of Plenty. It was a sensational drive! The rolling rural hills, lots of baby cows and the sun shining. Todays winner Kirsty wrote in and said her passion was hanging at the beach and park with her kids. Her gift wish was a longboard skateboard! Which for those of you who don’t know is a GIANT skateboard.. almost 2metres long!

Now that’s what I am talking about, what a great toy for the summer!! Wish granted!! They were even kind enough to give me the first spin on it, thanks guys!

Remember you can still write in so head to the website. I can’t wait to hear what would light up your Christmas.

Tomorrow I’m back in Auckland and I have my heaviest present yet?! Essential for New Zealand holidays…

Day 3

What a busy day!

I was lucky enough to spend my day driving down our beautiful country. I had gift number one in Auckland, now this was the gift I was unable to deliver on Tuesday. Thankfully Rochelle was home and received a YMCA gym membership.

My second gift of the day was for Laurelle in Hamilton. Laurelle is a jazz dancer and told us she would love a new pair of jazz boots for Christmas.

Zi6_0719

When I arrived Laurelle was hard at work making costumes for her Christmas dance show, how cool is that? She was ecstatic with her gift and best of all they fit! Phew.

It would seem I am not the only one dishing up surprises… Our third winner Polly from Rotorua followed my online activity and felt pretty sure she was one of today’s winners. Polly left a detailed note on her front door for me before she left for work, complete with instructions and illustrations.

I was able to catch Polly at work and give her a voucher for cherry piker hire. Why you ask? So her husband could get up high enough to trim their trees. How great is that?! That made my day.

One of tomorrow’s gifts is extremely romantic. Tune in tomorrow to find out what it is…
