Day 23

Today’s gift wish reminded me of an episode off the hit show Friends. Where Monica makes an enquiry into a wedding venue for her and her boyfriend Chandler. Naturally this is all a surprise for dear Chandler when he finds out. But hey it works, he gets the idea and they get engaged.

Hopefully it will work out the same way for Sarah and her long-term boyfriend. Sarah has always dreamt about her wedding and wedding dress. As we all do. When she saw the opportunity for a gift wish online “the only thing she could think of” was silk and all the necessary trim, zips and cotton for her future wedding dress. I appeared at her upbeat and lively office today with her wish. She was blown away. “ I never thought you would pick me“ she said. Well we did and it was an absolute pleasure to meet you and your office full of hilarious ladies. Merry Christmas!!

Tomorrow I am staying in Auckland with a gift to help you find things. Rather handy I think…

Day 22

Gooober of the day goes to me, I missed my flight to New Plymouth. To be fair it was at 7am.. but yeah.. I missed it uh oh. Thankfully I was able to re book one for midday. Pressure was on to get the two gifts delivered!!

Speaking of flying, today’s first winner Lui told us one of his passions is to fly and fix model helicopters. He wanted to fly in a full size helicopter to compare the real deal with all his models! Awesome. I granted his wish today at his work – the port of New Plymouth.

Lui arrived in style to meet me at the gate in a hugggeeee truck/crane thingy the size of a two-story house. Cooooool! Note guys – the wind was fierce and makes alot of noise in our video.

I then shot out to Stratford. I found the place I was after. It was your typical boy flat with lots of bikes, skates, car parts and girls in bikinis posters. I have to say, I had the feeling a big dog was going to come at me as I wandered around the back.

The boys did have a pet. It was a little 9-week-old ginger kitten!! Cute! Aw. I had to tear myself away from the kitten and actually do the job I was there to do – give Reece his gift wish. Reece was chilling with the kitten and was chuffed to have a new frame for his BMX building.

Well another great day in another great part of nz. It is still all on tomorrow I will be in Tauranga! Definitely taking my togs for a swim yeeehaaa

Day 19

Hurray I am in the south island and it is amazing!!!! If you haven’t been, get down here !!! Excited much? … haha

Right so, I had two gifts to give today. Two rather domestic gifts; A lawn mower and a baker’s mixer.

Lei-Anne’s spark is baking and she’s always dreamt of a proper bakers mixer. I know the feeling; all that beating with a wooden spoon can really wear you out. Well to take all the strain out of baking I gave her an ice blue mixer. I’m looking forward to a big Christmas cake or maybe some cookies mmm.

My second winner today was Rob. He has an old rusted push mower to do his lawns with. His spark is landscaping so you can imagine using it totally, uninspiring!! Rob’s gift wish was a mower with a bit more grunt and power. So I delievered! I dropped by his work with a new shiny gun metal coloured mower and he was stoked!!

Have a great weekend guys. Catch me next week. have alot of exciting gifts, you do not want to miss :)

Day 18

Here we are at day 18 and the gift wishes just keep getting more and more interesting!

I think every one has a fascination with aeroplanes and the goings on at airports. I certainly do. All that flying some how sparks my curiosity. How do they do that? What’s going on? What do they say between pilot and command centre?… hmmmm

Today’s winner Daniel is so interested in planes and airport communications; he is training to be a pilot! One of the perks of his training is using scanners to intercept all of the communications and data from flights.

I headed to his place today and hooked him up with a brand new scanner. Fortunately for Daniel he doesn’t have to travel very far as he lives right under the airport! How cool is that?!

I’m headed to the city in the south island tomorrow. Can’t wait. One of the gifts I am taking with me is ideal for baking… I’d know.. I have one.

Day 17

The airport was abuzz this morning. Very few flights are able to head down south due to weather conditions. Thankfully my flight to Napier was only slightly delayed and able to depart. It makes me laugh that I know most of the overhead air attendant messages now.. What a frequent flyer I am now haha

My gift today was for Ryan. His partner Kate had written to us and said I quote “ He’s a water baby and lives to surf… He has the talent but not the tools”. Kate requested a custom Tommy Dalton board for her man and she got her wish.

Now Ryan wasn’t the easiest dude to find. None of the contact details worked out. But not to be stumped I went door knocking. After a chat with a lovely elderly neighbour I found out where he worked and headed there. I arrived at a very noisy construction site in the middle of Clive. With mud up to my knees I finally found Ryan amidst diggers and trucks.

I told him about his gift and handed over the gift certificate, Ryan’s eyes light up. Kate has truly aided this mans passion for surfing … wow… What a great gift wish.
